Designed for the Inspector General at Malmstrom AFB, this custom plaque showcases four sculpted layers over an EVA foam backer, all cut, engraved, and finished in-house. We paired Cherry (½"), Ash (¼"), Bloodwood (¼"), Beech (¼"), and Walnut (⅛") to create depth and contrast, then sealed every piece with three coats of Waterlox. The wooden magnifying glass—crafted to match and fitted with a real glass lens—anchors the narrative of scrutiny and integrity. Each shield above the eagle is individually inscribed for the Airman honored. Delivered in a custom-built box and shrink wrapped for presentation-ready impact.
For the three large Air Force Division plaques, we scaled the build up to a commanding 30" height with a ¾" solid walnut base for stability and presence. Each piece carries the same material palette and finish as the Inspector General plaque—Cherry, Ash, Bloodwood, Beech, and Walnut—but stepped up to ½" thickness for richer relief and shadow. All elements are precision cut and engraved in-house, then sealed with three coats of Waterlox for depth, durability, and a refined sheen. Designed for prominent wall display or lectern flanking, these divisions’ crests maintain crisp line work at scale and allow for unit-specific inscription on the shield, delivering ceremony-ready impact the moment they’re unboxed.
Designed to accompany the large shield project, these five custom department boxes are built and finished in-house, then installed beside each department’s entrance for a clean, consistent identity. Each box features the department name flanked by small shield emblems, precision-cut and inset for crisp alignment and depth. We engineered the boxes for daily traffic—tight joinery, durable finishes, and concealed mounting for a floating, professional look. Sized as a coordinated set, they create a unified wayfinding system that ties the entire space back to the primary shield while giving every department its own moment of pride.
Born from a client’s hand sketch on notebook paper, this plaque traces the full arc from concept to craft: the first image shows the original drawing, the second our refined Illustrator artwork, and the third the finished piece. Built on a ½" cherry board, it features two missiles crossed behind a house—a clear emblem of a dorm leader’s duty to safeguard and steward their “home.” We inlaid seven challenge coins flush to the surface for a ceremonial, story-rich focal point, then sealed the piece with three coats of Waterlox for depth, durability, and a warm luster. The result is a personalized award that preserves the client’s vision while elevating it to display-ready craftsmanship.
For this 15" alder plaque, we designed and fabricated a ⅛" solid brass logo that’s inlaid flush into the face for a clean, high-contrast reveal. The alder’s warm grain provides a refined backdrop while the custom-made brass emblem adds weight and authority. We cut a precision pocket for the inlay, bonded it securely, and allowed it to rise above slightly surface. To preserve the metal’s luster, the brass is finished with a clear lacquer, keeping it bright and fingerprint-resistant for long-term display.
We also made smaller versions for their employee recognition program.
